R2… Fire Up the Converters

October 20, 2010

I’ve been interested in starting a blog for a while and finally received the encouragement I needed from a guest speaker in a class. Not only is it something fun but it can also possible further career opportunities. So… Welcome to the Argyle Life! What the hell does that even mean? Well here is what I think it is. This is a selection from this site’s About section. It will always be there but I feel that explaining the Argyle Life would be a perfect first post.

This site explains the world from the point of view of someone who lives the Argyle Life. What is the Argyle Life? I’m glad you asked. In a simple answer, it is this; argyle socks. But as I said before, this is a lifestyle and there is much more involved within than the sock of choice of said lifestyle.

For a more in depth answer, one must look at the argyle sock and break down all its qualities. They are a pure utility sock. They are colorful, complex yet simple, sophisticated yet goofy, timeless yet modern, dressy yet casual. Save the case of golfing with knickers, they are a subtile addition to an outfit. However, the wearer will usually wear loafers, boat shoes, and/or cuff their chinos in order to reveal to those who know to look for this tell-tail sign that they are indeed living the Argyle Life.

This all speaks volumes about those who live the lifestyle. They are constantly in the pursuit of something interesting. They have many facits of their personality yet anyone can relate to them on the most basic level. They can carry an intelligent conversation on most anything yet haven’t lost touch with the lighter side of life. They enjoy the classics yet will never shy away from the contemporary. They will dress nicely yet they will never appear unapproachable. And they will appear just like the person next to them unless you talk to them or know what subtleties to look for.

I am excited to start on this journey and hope to give the world an interesting perspective as seen through those living the Argyle Life.

I’m not exactly sure how much time I will have to devote to this in the beginning, but I hope to be posting articles in a regular fashion in the future. Thanks for checkin it out!
